TANCET

Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) is conducted by Anna University (AU) for admission to the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the various AU affiliated colleges in Tamil Nadu. Apart from MBA it is also conducted for students who aspire to pursue MCA, M.E, M.Tech, M.Arch, and M.Plan. Some other universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the students on the basis of TANCET for their quota of seats.

TANCET is conducted every year on the 2nd Sunday of May, for Admission to the MBA programmes of Anna University School of Management, The Govt College of Technology Coimbatore, The Govt Colleges of Engineering at Salem and Tirunelveli and to other Govt aided and unaided Colleges. The actual list of colleges that are affliated to the TANCET in any given year is released by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamil Nadu, 20 days before the exam.

With the standards of these institutions growing better and better every academic year, the TANCET today has quite a remarkable attendance not only by students of TN, but those from other states also. Moreover, the percentage of graduates intending to pursue higher studies is also increasing owing to less pay in jobs, and recessional considerations, giving the TANCET all the more importance in the TN scenario.
